Simio & Jones, LLP maintains an active commercial litigation practice. This practice encompasses the representation of a broad spectrum of clients in civil litigation before state and federal courts, administrative agencies and in various alternative dispute resolution forums, such as arbitration and mediation. Our attorneys represent the small business owner in routine contract disputes, oppressed minority shareholder and collection disputes as well as large corporations in some of their most complex disputes involving franchising, employment contracts/restrictive covenants, wrongful termination, tortious interference and fraud. We look at litigation as a business issue and analyze disputes with a true business sense. We counsel our clients on how to avoid litigation if possible, and if unavoidable, we advise our clients on how to deal with it in the most cost-effective manner. The Firm's attorneys are as adept at negotiating beneficial resolutions to commercial disputes without the resort to litigation as they are in vindicating a client's rights in a court of law through the full use of the adversarial process. We listen to our clients' needs and are with them each step of the way from initial contact until dispute resolution. Our litigators put all of their skills and experience to work for our clients to help them achieve the best possible business outcome available.
Among the types of litigation the Firm typically handles are:
In all instances, the Firm's attorneys are there for our clients and work diligently with them to establish the objective of the representation and thereafter, to develop and employ the legal strategy best suited for achieving that objective.
We represent (large and small) General Contractors and Sub-Contractors in all facets of construction law, including, but not limited to, contract review and drafting, lien claims, collection efforts over payment disputes, and litigation support when necessary. We have been successful in utilizing alternate dispute resolution processes, such as arbitration and mediation, in attempting to resolve complex construction disputes in both a quicker and more cost effective fashion.

Everyone at one point or another is a consumer. Consumer fraud is an extremely common problem, experienced by people from all walks of life. Home improvement contractors, tele-marketers, insurance companies and agents, financial "advisors" and sellers of computer software and hardware are just a few of the many sellers which commonly mislead consumers.
Fortunately, the State of New Jersey has enacted the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, N.J.S.A. 56:8-1, et seq., which is one of the strongest consumer protection laws in the United States. It provides treble damages and attorneys fees to successful plaintiffs, meaning that NO CASE IS TOO SMALL TO FILE. We at the law firm of Simio, & Jones, LLP have extensive experience handling consumer fraud claims, and believe that no consumer should be the victim of fraud, even if it is for a small amount of money.

Municipal Courts of New Jersey for the most part hear and adjudicate cases involving Motor Vehicle Offenses and certain Criminal Offenses. A case comes before a Municipal Court by the signing of a Complaint.
